Sponsors! School Leadership! Elected Officials!
Community Stakeholders! ASJN Board & Members!

All parties gathered inside of the New Jerusalem (Alta Woods Campus) to show appreciation to businesses/organizations & stakeholders for their unwavering commitment in supporting our efforts to change the narrative of Jackson; but especially, South Jackson by providing support financially & physically to our youth!

In appreciation for the countless and diligent support, a total of17 sponsors received plaques for their monetary contributions & manual labor that they’ve provided to community events that we have hosted.

Three separate recipients received plaques which included the two guest speakers: Jessica Gunter of Comcast, Jim Pollard of AMR, & Alvin Jackson of New Jerusalem. The speakers have made significant impact through large purchases that exceeded $1,000. Mr. Jackson has selflessly offered the use of their facility and equipment. And we are very appreciative of his act of kindness.

We were graced with the presence of candidates seeking office for Judge. Those candidates were: Tametrice Hodges, Trent Walker, current Judge Adrienne Wooten (seeking re-election), & Gayla Carpenter-Sanders. Each candidate spoke to the audience in regards to why he/she will be best for the job.

Additionally, we received support from Board of Supervisors President Credell Calhoun, District 4 Supervisor Vern Gavin, SPO Chris Gray, Councilman Brian Grizzell, Deputy Chief Vincent Grizzell of JPD, Hinds County Chancery Clerk Eddie Jean Carr, Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones, Forest Hill principal Mr. Torrey Hampton & their athletic coaching staff, Assistant Superintendent of Jackson Public High School Division Mrs. Laketia Marshall-Thomas, Representative De’Keither Stamps, Wingfield High School principal Mr. Roderick Smith, Precinct 1 Commander Kevin Nash, Deputy Chief of Patrol Operations Tiny Harris, Commander Abraham Thompson of the Homicide Unit of JPD, Howard Sander of Central MS, Tabitha-Manger of Burger King, Angel Carter with Hinds County Cheerleader League, & Coach McGowan staff with the little league football team.

Each South Jackson high school (Forest Hill & Wingfield were each separately awarded $1,500.00 for their athletic departments to use to purchase equipment, uniforms, and food). South Jackson Eagles were awarded $500.00 and the Hinds County Cheer League was awarded $500.00

It is the ultimate goal for this organization to Lead, Inspire, Transform, and Engage all citizens of the South Jackson area.

There were 120 people present and 25 other individuals purchased tickets to show their support towards the work that we are physically doing in the communities where we reside and work. We are appreciative of each and everyone of our sponsors, stakeholders, communities, members of ASJN, and whomever else that has assisted us in guaranteeing that our banquet was a success!

Special thanks to Mrs. Margaret Blanchard, the caterer and her staff for feeding us such delicious supper. If ASJN can ever be of any assistance, do not hesitate to reach us and we will be there to serve you in the best manner that we can!
