CheerKnights Youth Cheer

Whenever the Association of South Jackson Neighborhoods has the opportunity to support youth exhibiting positive behavior in the South Jackson community, we are all in.  Recently, head Coach Tanita Warren of the Knights Youth Football and Cheer Organization approached ASJN about donating to this group of youth to purchase much needed supplies and equipment for an upcoming competition.  The organization is supported by a group of volunteer parents who take care of uniforms, props, pom poms and snacks for every game.  Volunteer parents like Shanae Smith, Shalandria Thompson, Angelica Ward and Dance McGee have supported youth sports for over 5 years with over 75 kids.  The Knights organization is open to kids ranging in ages from 5 to 13 years old.  The organization provides an A, B, and C team for youth football and a cheerleading squad.  The Knights strive to provide a learning, competitive, positive and fun sports experience for all children.  The Knights Cheer organization plays a huge part in motivation while teaching girls the fundamentals of cheer, teamwork, responsibility and accountability.  This year the Knight cheerleaders will be participating in their first official cheer competition to be hosted by the Jackson United Sports Association.

ASJN proudly donated to this group a check in the amount of $700 and wishes the mighty Knights great success in the competition.
