Wellness Fair

Saturday, November 11, 2023, we sponsored our second Wellness Fair at the Peggy Calhoun Community Center located in the Will-o-wood community.  ASJN (Association of South Jackson Neighborhoods) hosted its "Healthier You Community 5K Walk/Run Wellness & Safety Fair."  The event was hosted in partnership with several health care providers and professionals. They were all there ready to assist the community in addressing its needs. There were many agencies available, and information given out.  Free blood pressures checks, iron and glucose checks, and the people from the community received free healthy food. Valuable health care information was available to take home. We had 18 vendors and health care professionals that participated and said the event was much needed within our community and that they would be happy to participate again. The community was so engaged in learning about each organization that attended. At the end of the event, all those that participated and were present gave their appreciation for such an amazing event.
