South Jackson Clean up -Saturday, January 16, 2021

In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, the Association of South Jackson Neighborhoods and over 50 volunteers from the subdivisions of Willowood, Oak Creek, Cedar Hills, Raintree Place, Leavellwood, Heritage Manor Estates, Swan Lake, Bel Air, Brookwood and Carriage Hills held their cleanup day on Saturday, 16, 2021 during Operation Cleanup South Jackson.  This is the first in a series of cleanups to occur each month in efforts to tidy up the southern part of town.

Teams removed trash and debris along McDowell Road, Hwy 18, Teresa Drive, Woody, Marydale Drive, Forest Hill Road and Lakeshore Drive.  Teams collected over 200 bags of trash, 2 mattresses and 17 tires, all of which could have been placed on the curb during regular garbage pickup.

A very special “Thank You” to Willa Watson and Brittney Bowman for coordinating Operation Cleanup South Jackson.  If you or your neighborhood would like to participate in February’s cleanup, send an email to watson_wila@yahoo.com or bowman_brittney@yahoo.com.
