Book Bag Donation

August 2022 was an extremely busy month for The Association of South Jackson Neighborhoods (ASJN). The Association of South Jackson Neighborhoods donated three hundred book bags to needy students. Partners of the Associations and community leaders were asked to identify students who needed a book bag to begin the school year. Participating HOAs included: Cedar Hills, Carriage Hills, Will-O-Wood, Oak Creek, Brookhollow, Brookleigh, Swan Lake, just to name a few.

Each book bag was filled with paper, pencils, pens, scissors, ruler, pencil sharpener, folders, crayons, and glue. “Every little bit helps.”

Book bags were made possible through generous donations from Zakiya Summers Representative House 68, Representative Dekeither Stamps, Charles Stokes, Tax Assessor, Judge Johnnie McDaniel, Supervisor Credell Calhoun, Joanne Bell Humana, AMR, Comcast and Judge Adenine Wooton.

Special “Thank You” from Ernest Ward and Johnny Byrd,
